Out Standing at Standing Out

When we seek commonality

 we gain a false sense of security, confirmation, partiality

and when we land on the outside looking in,

we may feel small, insignificant, undesirable

but it is the strength of individuality that spawns a new avenue

our uniqueness may originate as a single oddity

but ultimately distinguishes us as out~standing

A Peace of Heart

guilt is not equipped to foster sincerity

it is a product of anger and resentment

which can not swaddle the cries of discord

the only salve is a big heart

large enough to break away

and offer a peace

weakening oneself

to strengthen another

Slap and Crumble

And with a slap

reality hits, shock is felt

the sting lingers

Tears delivered

watering thoughts

propagating pensivity

where change ensues

Growth is birthed

where faith supports the down beat

belief brings forth the upbeat

and the heart beats on

Keeping us steady

as our world crumbles
